Glue Shrinkage test

This was prompted by a discussion several months ago when someone online was asking about booms not staying straight. At that time I made a comment about glue shrinkage. Some people were skeptical. These strips prove shrinkage of glue.
I took 1 cc of both Duco and Ambroid glue and made a strip of glue with a 22 gauge needle. I then diluted the glue to 3 cc and made a strip on a second piece of balsa. 2 drops of plasticizer was then added and mixed in and a third set of strips was made. As you can see there is significant shrinkage.
