How to pre-shrink tissue paper
Chris A. Boehm merlin@tir.com says:
Normally I pre-shrink the domestic and the Japanese tissue paper by steam ironing. First, I lay the paper on a Formica table top. When steaming, I do not let the iron touch the tissue, it messes up the steam. After the tissue is EVENLY wet, I turn the steam off and iron the tissue with a medium temp iron. Try to iron from the center out to the edge, and try to dry the tissue evenly, otherwise you will iron in a wrinkle.
This pre-shrinks the tissue quite well, but not completely. In other words, put it on the model dry, then use water or alcohol shrink.
I usually use this method especially to prepare my tissue for feeding through the printer.
